The Seresto Flea and Tick Collar is an amazing thing (especially after you have been through what I have with fleas). I decided to do a review about it for you. I use this product and absolutely love it. So I thought why not make my first review on this website about the Seresto Collar.
Seresto Flea and Tick Collar for Dogs Review
Size: The Seresto Collar comes in 3 different sizes. These collars are adjustable. Breakaway collars for Cats 10 weeks of age and older, Small dogs under 18 pounds and Large dogs over 18 pounds. Dog collars are for puppies 7 weeks of age and older. They come with 3 visibility reflector clips.
Prices range anywhere from $36 to $80, depending where you get it. My local store has them for $50, but I can get them online for $36( I am sure these prices will change over time). So if you are not in a rush, you can save money (obviously depending on shipping cost).
These collars work for 8 months, so if you think about how much the topical treatment costs, this is cheaper. If you give your dog baths frequently, it can reduce the time to 5 months. But still cheaper than most topical treatments. Also, you don’t have to worry about treating them every month. If you live where you have winter, you could probably get away with only purchasing 1 collar per year in the springtime. If you have had a flea problem, I would recommend that the first year, you use the collar during the winter also to get the flea eggs on your pets or in your home that may hatch during the winter months.
5 to 8 months of protection. Not having to remember monthly treatments. You don’t have to remove the collar for baths. Kills fleas, ticks and larvae. (Better than anything else that I personally have tried) on your pet and in your home(even on the pet bedding). Odorless. It is actually quite fancy looking with the reflective clips (They look like jewels to me lol) Easy to adjust for neck size.
Some people have said that it can take up to a few weeks to completely get rid of ticks. It does say that it may take a little longer to start working on ticks.
I don’t have any personal cons with this product and I use it for 3 dogs. I have read that some people had issues with their pets being allergic. They think that the collar could have caused seizures in 1 dog that I read about because they started after putting the collar on and stopped when they took the collar off. As with anything, it may work wonderful for thousands of people, but then you get that 1 pet that is allergic or ends up with health issues because of it. So as wonderful and safe as I feel it is, I would recommend that you keep an eye on your pet just in case your pet may have an allergy or something.
My overall opinion:
I just think these collars are the best thing ever made for flea and tick treatment. I have never believed in collars until I found this one and it was recommended by 2 different people that we know, so I gave it a shot. It is so easy compared to monthly treatments. It killed all of the fleas on my dogs and in my house very quickly. I will recommend the Seresto Collar to anyone that is looking to prevent or get rid of fleas. I you read my page about Fleas and Ticks you will read my story and see why I am so amazed with this collar. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it. The cons that I wrote about above are based on other reviews that I found online. The people that recommended it to us are still just as happy with it as we are. I put the dogs collars on them in August (The dogs and my home were loaded with fleas) and I saw a huge reduction within the first few days, within a week I saw no more fleas on the dogs or in my home. It is now March and they are still wearing the same collars and no fleas. They will be getting new collars later this month as we get closer to spring just to be safe because I bath them often and it has been more than 5 months.
